Tea Ceremony
On May 1st, Akiko, one of Deanne's Students, invited us to a Japanese Tea
Ceremony in a park near Abiko. It was really interesting. We enjoyed the
best green tea I have ever had, with snacks and lunch that we couldn't eat
(because it was all fish). After lunch we walked to the temple at the edge
of the park. Thankfully the event was casual, I don't think I could have
kneeled the whole time we where there.

Our first Japanese BBQ
Last Sunday Kaori invited us to a BBQ with her sports club friends. It was our first
Japanese BBQ. Well, it wasn't really a BBQ it was more like a picnic. We met Kaori in
her home town of Matsudo and walked about 15 minutes to the Edogawa River. We spent
the afternoon eating chips, potato salad, flower shaped sushi rolls. Spring has sprung
here in Japan so the weather was excellent along the river. Families were all along the
river fishing, picnicing and bicycling riding. It was a great afternoon. Enjoy the pictures.
